St. Antony’s Church at Ammapatti is near Kodai Road,the main railway junction for Kodaikannal. The parish is surrounded by beautiful hills. The parish was bifurcated from Silukuvarpatti parish and was entrusted to the Congregation of Missionaries of St.Francis De sales on 11 June 1997. It has one substation. Fr.A. Santhiagu was appointed as the first parish priest and he had to do everything for the parish and the people of the parish were very much co-operative. He had to stay in the sacristy as there was no presbytery. He took the initiative to buy a piece of land in one of the substations in 1997.

In 1998, Fr.A. Santhiagu built the Priests´ house. During the time of Fr.A. Michael the parish church was constructed. The church was consecrated on 28 December 2004 by Most Rev. Dr. Peter Fernando, the Archbishop of Madurai. The parish is dedicated to St.Antony the Great. In later stage, our fathers built a school for the poor children in Ammapatti.In 2008, the compound wall around the presbytery was constructed by Fr. R. Mathias and it was completed by Fr. A. Nayaga Jayaseelan. He also constructed a belfry in 2010.

Vision and Mission Statement

We, the Fransalians at Ammapatti strive to radiate the good news of love of Jesus Christ to the deprived people of this area. We do give witness to the people by living an authentic life of self-discipline. We try to build up fraternal communion within the people irrespective of their differences. We do instill in the minds of the people some of the Christian values through our preaching and way of life. We enlighten them by way of teaching, preaching and education.
