Our Lady of Fathima Church, Kodungal is located in the Taluk of Thirukoilur in Villupuram District.This parish was bifurcated from Mugaiyur and was erected as a separate parish on 27 July 2000 and was entrusted to the Congregation of MSFS.Fr. C. John Britto took charge as the first parish priest. Out of 30000 people living in Kodungal, the Catholics number 2759, which forms 460 Catholic families. The following villages are attached to Kodungal as Substations: 1)Veerachozhapuram, 2)Paranur, 3) Melakondur, 4) Kilakondur,5) Puttur, and 6) Kadaganur.The parish church was blessed on 6 December 1994, prior to the arrival of the MSFS.Many of the parishioners are government employees, of whom a considerable number of persons is employed in the Indian Army. They are very good people with new vision and achievement of the technologies.

The parish House was built by Fr. F. Emmanuel,blessed byRt. Rev. Dr. S.Michael Augustine, the Archbishop of Pondicherryand opened by Rev.Fr. Mani Panthalani, the Provincialon 02 February 2003. The confreres here are involved in faith formation, formation of Basic Christian Communities, Faith Associations, House   visits, special prayer services,Evening Tuitions and Youth movement.
